Pin Skull

6/5/12 – Experimentation

After using the paperclips in the previous experiment, I tried to experiment with other materials in order to create different shapes, forms or compositions.  Pressing the pins into the surface did not work well as an image and I decided to reposition the pins, which began to create a very basic outline of a skull.

A dark backdrop and a very high camera angle were used to create this particular image. These experimentations may provide other ideas or concepts for other projects in relation to the skull.

This particular experiment was inspired by Scalin’s project and the objective is to identify what materials I can actually use to create a representation of a skull. The levels and the curves were altered in Photoshop in order to enhance the image.
